about spike report

Introducing Spike Report, a spiking database to protect you and your mates on a night out. After recent incidents, we realised there was no viewable database on spikings in the UK. You can report an incident to the police, but you can’t view what others have reported.

With Spike Report, you can report a spiking incident but also view what others have submitted. Search by venue, city, or method of spiking. We’re all about giving you the info you need to have the safest night possible - including the date of the spiking so you know when it happened, where and how.

I went for one pint after work with two friends who I know and trust. I got a Cruz Campo and sat at a table with my mates. I thought it wasn’t tasting as good as it usually did but was tired so didn’t really care enough to say anything. Halfway through my drink I started to feel really spaced out and panicked, so I went to the bathroom (which took me too long to find), and went on my phone for a bit to try and assess what was happening. I knew something wasn’t right, so I downed the rest of my drink and made an excuse to leave. I walked to my flat (a two minute walk away from the pub, thank god), and when I got in my flatmate tried to make conversation with me, but she was really freaking me out? I felt super paranoid and out of control, so I told her that I thought I was having a panic attack and needed to sleep. I went to bed but the room was spinning and I thought I was hearing things (I felt like I was greening out), and eventually got to bed but the next morning I still felt really really anxious and dizzy. It took me a few days to go back into work, only to find out that another girl I was with was spiked the same night and had been throwing up the next day, so I think that’s what happened. Stay safe!

I was out with friends and was bought a drink (I trust my friends and know they wouldn't spike me or leave my drink unattended) and I didn't think anything was wrong with it because it was my first one. About halfway through my second drink I started feeling really weird, so I brought it back up to the bar and didn't drink anything else for the rest of the night. I started feeling worse and worse. Panicky, sweaty, out of it completely. I was having trouble speaking and I felt very weak. I remember resting my head on my friend's shoulder and they held me for pretty much the entire night, and that's where things start to get fuzzy. I vaguely remember calling my mum asking her to pick me up, and I remember my friends staying with me until she did, but I can't remember anything else other than feeling really strange and nothing I've felt like before. I remember crying, and feeling like I was constantly falling over, and just feeling really odd. I don't know how to describe it other than an out of body experience, as if I was on drugs. (because I was but you get what I mean.) My mum came and collected me and we stopped at a 24hr garage and she bought me water and a snack. I couldn't lift my head to drink my water and felt like I was pasted to the back seat of the car. after that, I just remember being at home. I think it took a day or two for whatever I was spiked with to fully leave my system. that's as much as I can remember, and some of it is what my mum and my sister told me.

No memory of being injected. I was only at this pub and left after, my last memory being leaving. I then went home, and woke up with an injection mark on my right hand and a bruise

I was on a date - I usually handle my drink pretty well but there is a point where I had a drink early on in the date and my memory is distorted and I was apparently ‘gone’ in the words of the man who assaulted me. I was later raped that night. My assailant told me that the bar staff reflected on ‘just how drunk I was’ to my assailant upon leaving the bar - I do not remember leaving the bar, or much that followed that evening other than a few events that my memory did retain. There is a point during that night where I realised I lost my phone outside his flat, after he assaulted me, and upon looking for it I remember feeling weak and shaky. The days following, I was exhausted, drained and unwell in myself - although this could be because I was also raped and dealing with that.

I was out for a couple of drinks with my friend. I only had 2 pints of cider. I felt ok when I left but by the time I arrived at a party about an hour later I was acting very drunk and my boyfriend said that my pupils were very small. I now remember a member of the bar staff offering me a free drink that I took. That’s the only suspicious thing I can recall. Over the course of the party I became increasingly ‘intoxicated’ and was acting really out of character. I felt very nauseous and dizzy to the point of finding it difficult to walk. I was also having lots of mood swings and being aggressive/upset and argumentative. I only remember tiny snippets of the evening. My boyfriend got fed up with my behaviour because I was being difficult and left me and I didn’t realise that I sat on the pavement for a whole hour. My body was really heavy and achy and recalling it in hindsight I’m pretty sure I felt as if I couldn’t move. I was then mugged and attacked by two men on the pavement at about 11:25pm. They hit me in the face and head and tried to sexually assault me. Luckily, a group of girls were leaving the pub and witnessed what was happening and were able to scare off the attackers. I reported it to the police with their assistance.

We were in the front of Mojo's (Harrogate) by the bar the entire time we were there. I was acting normal apparently, for a few minutes after we left Mojo's, before I suddenly starting throwing up everywhere and passing out onto the ground. I was unconscious and/or unresponsive for a few hours and throwing up for the majority of this time as well. I went to the hospital and they told me to sleep it off, drink lots of water, and take some painkillers. That's what I did and I felt better after a couple of days of rest. The staff didn't help as we left before the effects became clear. I had a sore spot on my arm accompanied with a small red dot.

I was out with friends celebrating post exams, and we met up with another friend who was there alone with a man we didn't really know but seemed okay. His name was Mo/Moe. We'd only had about 4 drinks but I was slightly tipsy and so my guard was down. He kept telling me to relax and touching my arm and back, I was feeling fine but I'm just socially anxious so I look a little awkward at times. I was going to go get another drink and he said he was going to get one, so said he'd get me and my best friend one as well. I wasn't thinking clearly so I let him and asked for Absolut vodka and lemonade. He said he "only knew one type of vodka" but when I asked him what type it was he didn't answer me. He came back after a few minutes with our drinks, and after I drank it I instantly felt very weird and very drunk, it was only a single shot and I went from being slightly tipsy to stumbling, struggling to get up and slurring my words. I told my friends immediately that something was wrong and I just needed to leave I needed out. My friend was drunk and dancing so wasn't listening and he kept calling me back over telling me not to leave, telling me to just sit back down and have another drink. I just felt so wrong and needed to leave. We left very quickly and literally 10 steps away from the club I passed out onto the floor. I was coming in and out of consciousness, incredibly dizzy and physically numb, I literally couldn't feel anything. My friend who also had a drink from him also was passing out and had a lot of stomach pain. luckily there was a paramedic on site at the club and he helped and called an ambulance, he was incredibly kind and respectful. I haven't felt the same since and frequently think about what would have happened if I had stayed even a minute longer.

I remember being out with a few friends, then going to Yankees bar in concert square, then from 11:30pm to 9:00 I have no solid memory but flashes of going into electrik, coming out the bathroom, throwing up outside and telling my friends I think I was spiked, then a flash of going to the hospital, then a flash on a wheelchair, then being in and out of it on a hospital bed. My friends can account for me being with them and okay u til 1:00 - 1:30AM and then losing me before finding me an hour later. All the doctors seemed to suggest to my parents I look like I was spiked, I had not drank more than usual. I have never felt like that before and when I was back conscious was throwing up until around 4PM then my stomach was constantly contracted and not going out normally for a few days

I was out doing the Otley run but only did around 4 of the pubs, towards the end of the road. We ended up in Space and I was perfectly in my right mind. Me and my friend had received two drinks off a man who offered to buy us them, both of which I drank by downing them. Literally around 5 minutes later my jaw was gurning, I was throwing up, I couldn’t stop crying, I couldn’t see straight, and I ended up going to the hospital where they did nothing for me.

I went out for drinks unexpectedly with my two girl friends after dinner. They were both drinking a lot but I had a long journey for a funeral the next day so I avoided alcohol completely. We were all dancing, and I spent a lot of the time keeping an eye on my socially anxious friend and a guy who was touching her when she didn't want it. He told me to sit down, but I don't remember any other contact with him. The next thing I knew I was in the toilets sat on the floor, pouring with sweat, throwing up and missing the toilet. I have a severe phobia of vomit which always causes me panic and choke. Someone knocked on the door several times and my mouth couldn't answer properly. They burst into the bathroom and asked me how much I had to drink. I tried to tell them I'd had no alcohol, but either they couldn't understand or didn't believe I hadn't had alcohol. They picked me up and walked out with me. My friends were very drunk by this point and found me outside. One of my friends remembers me hanging off the girl's neck for support, being in her face, and thanking her and shouting in her face apologising for being sick on her, and not taking notice of her saying it was fine. In my memory, when I spoke to them it felt like they didn't understand but I could tell they were being nice. The next thing I remember was being on my friend's sofa. My kidneys really hurt, I had a pulsing feeling in my stomach, a really nasty migraine and a nervous jittery feeling. My hands and knees were in shreds. I didn't report it to the club as I had a funeral the next day and I'm not from Liverpool.

I was at a society event, where the majority of the attendees were queer students. I left my drink unattended for a few minutes, as I thought it would be a safe environment, forgetting that ticketing hadnt been done properly so members of the public were also in the venue. I started feeling super drunk, like way more than I should've been for how much I'd drunk, but I figured it was that my tolerance had just gone down or something. I somehow managed to make my way home (falling over a lot), and by the time I was home could barely stand. I felt honestly horrific, I was confused and scared and could barely move, but managed to incoherently message my partner, who rushed over and called paramedics. I didn't really know what was happening until the paramedics actually arrived - an angry woman and 2 trainees. the trainees stood back in my doorway looking anxious, while the main paramedic took the absolute piss out of me. she told me to just sleep it off and that I'd have a hangover. I told the person who ran the event, and he also didn't believe me. My partners seen me really drunk before, and that wasn't drunk. Since, I've noticed that someone in that society is low-key stalking me - and I honestly am wondering if it was him

I was in the club with friends for about an hour, maybe an hour and a half, everyone thought I was just drunk and then I fell on the floor (I'm typically a very composed drunk person so this set off alarm bells). My friends took me outside and I started freaking out and thinking that a random group of boys where going to attack me, I was hyperventilating and crying for ages and apparently I was hallucinating seeing member of my family in the street, I thought that some of my friends where also out to get me. They got me in an uber and took my back to my friends flat, where I clung into one of my friends and wouldn’t let him leave me so he had to calm me down enough to sleep. the next day I woke up and immediately knew I had been spiked, we then checked my arms and saw the puncture site that was starting to bruise.

that and a friend went to the club which was relatively quiet when we arrived. Videos from the night show that within an hour after arriving, and after only one drink and two shots, we were screaming, staggering and behaving far more erratically than we ever had before. I have zero memory after getting our drinks and woke up in hospital the next morning so the following events are purely pieced together from videos and my friends memory. We both ended up in a toilet cubicle violently throwing up, I went completely unconscious and had to be carried out by club security. My friend was luckily conscious and alert and with the knowledge that I am diabetic she begged the bouncer to call an ambulance. Unfortunately the club staff wrote it off as a student who had drunk too much and left me on the pavement outside with my friend and a couple of lovely strangers who stayed to help. I have vague flashes of memory at the hospital noting that I couldn’t move my legs, I was vomiting uncontrollably and violently shaking. The next morning I told the doctors what had happened and that I believed I had been spiked - they hinted that there was something in my bloodstream but again wrote it off as a student who had simply taken strong drugs for fun. They told me to go home and take anti-sickness tablets. After getting home, my friend and I researched different types of drugs used for spiking and found that ketamine could cause uncontrollable behaviour, vomiting and temporary paralysis and decided this was probably the most likely thing used. I phoned the police who said two officers would be round to take my statement that evening. They never showed.

Was watching Knocked Loose in Project House, and left my drink with my partner to go pee. After I came back I finished my drink (I only had a half pint). I felt extremely drunk and weak. I couldn't clench my fist and was struggling to stay on my feet. It was dreadful and I didn't enjoy the concert.

I was on a second date with a man I'd met from Hinge. We'd had a walk in the country, followed by some drinks and dinner out. I have a high alcohol tolerance, but towards the end of the evening I blacked out and was found throwing up sat in a pool of my own vomit. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before, even when I've drunk far beyond my limits. I have little memory but have pieced the event together through other peoples accounts. The guy I was with made no attempts to get me back to the bar, to a safe place, call an ambulance, call the police, or even call a friend or family member for me. A woman who was passing by stopped to help me and was crouched down on the floor with me when my mother arrived (due to a pre-arranged pick up and interventions from my friend trying to get hold of me for her) the guy was stood up a couple of metres away from me and just said "it's not my fault" to her.

I was fine going into Kiwis, I remember speaking to bar staff etc, I sat at a table, my friend went to the toilet. I was alone for about 5-6 minutes. I was rummaging in my bag for something and as I looked up I saw 2 men walking away from my table. My friend came back from the toilet and I remember chatting, then the next thing I know I was in a taxi with my friend, I could hear everything going on around me but I was unable to move or speak. My friend called my husband who then met us near my house and I had to be carried by my husband as I was unable to walk. I was sick several times and was unable to hold my head up, my husband stayed awake all night as he was worried I would choke. I have no recollection of anything else that evening. My friend said we were chatting and all of a sudden it was like something changed and I wasn't really there. The next day I was totally unable to sleep, I couldn't keep anything down including water. I did not drink an excessive amount that evening so I am sure it was not due to alcohol, I would be the first to take responsibility.

I was at a Christmas party for a company where I was employed as a DJ for a number of years. It was a guest listed event and closed to the general public. At some point in the early hours of the morning I was found unconscious in the female toilets by another employee of the company. I was later informed that some other attendees (known to me both professionally / socially) at the event helped me out of the venue and one of them accompanied me home in a taxi but I have no memory from around 12am to when I woke up at home the next day. All of this was told to me by the person that found me in the toilets and the person that accompanied me home. From what I have been told, the venue staff were aware of the situation but did not check to see if I required any medical assistance. When I woke up the next day it was clear to me that something was not right and, after consulting a close friend who is a qualified nurse, I contacted the police. After taking a statement and conducting numerous tests it was discovered that I had traces of an unknown sedative (most likely diazepam) and heroin in my system. I later learned that before I was found in the toilets a man had been witnessed lurking around me and acting in a suspicious manner. The man in question was later arrested on suspicion of my assault and also for assaulting one of the venue door staff. I have absolutely no memory of a long period of the evening, I was not aware of the man mentioned above being in my presence and I have no recollection of what happened during this lost period of time. This investigation had been ongoing since January and I was recently informed that the case has been closed due to lack of evidence following a thorough forensic investigation. The police also informed me that the venue CCTV does not cover the female toilets and on the whole does not show anything conclusive. As part of the investigation I have had to undergo examinations and tests at the Sexual Assault Referral Centre as I wasn’t sure if I had been sexually assaulted whilst unconscious in the venue toilets. I urge all venues to take reports like this seriously and not assume it’s an attack or smear campaign against them when the details are made public. Phoning the victim not long after the event and defensively stating that some of the facts contradict the spike report that the victim has uploaded in good faith is neither morally nor professionally acceptable. To be clear on this: the venue have taken issue with my statement in regards to how long I was actually alone in the toilets - something that does not alter the fact that highly dangerous drugs were found in my system and a person would still have had ample time to assault me if they wished. I also learned that other employees of the company have been discussing the above outside of the workplace with their friends. According to them I have continued to exaggerate the length of time that I was unconscious in the toilets when discussing the ordeal (again, morally / professionally unacceptable and irrelevant when considering what came to light following the event). My only reason for uploading this report is to support the continued effort to raise awareness of drink spiking. We all need to work together to stop this epidemic and this can only be achieved through awareness, conversation and cooperation. The victim blaming has to stop.

Myself and 6 friends visited this venue only to be verbally abused by a male customer within 5 minutes of arriving, undoing his belt and zip, walking towards us and asking us which one wants it first. This same male customer continued to harass us at our allocated table, knocking into us and trying to intimidate us, also going to our food and drinks when he thought none of us where watching. One of my friends finally called him out when he was caught at our table with our drinks again only for him to become verbally and physically abusive towards her. 3 of the girls where then removed while another found me and the rest of the group to inform us of what happened and that we were all being removed. One of the bouncers became frustrated at all of us for continuing to call out the male customer for being a predator so the bouncer squared up to one of my friends and because she didn’t back down he launched at her dragging her back into the entrance and throwing her to the floor. There is more to the story but to keep this as brief as possible we finally left the area and within 15 mins my partner became unconscious. Shaking, eyes rolling, unable to walk or talk dropping in and out of consciousness. She was checked over by a member of staff from another venue and the confirmed she had been spiked. We have had no support from bar and beyond, the police or the nhs.

We arrived at the venue just after 9pm and went to the bar to get a drink. In the change over of artists we made our way through the crowd to help with some of the equipment at the front. We were stood in a busy crowd with our drinks in our elbows whilst we were faffing looking up at the camera being turned on on the lighting rig etc. we then filmed the gig and a friend became unwell once the band had finished. She went outside as she couldn’t stop hiccuping and then started vomiting. She became more slurry and we left the venue after 11pm. She was more unwell whilst waiting for an Uber. Her partner got her home safely but she blacked out in the cab and was sick through the night, then slept all day Monday. We’ve spoken to the venue today and anonymously reported to the police. She doesn’t wish to be identified or give personal details to the police. The venue have responded immediately and so far have been great. We just wanted to raise awareness of this happening in case anyone else reports anything similar.

I was having a regular night out with friends and went to the bar for another drink, started talking to a guy who said they were 25 (I was 18) and I thought I was keeping track of how much I’d drunk and keeping a hand on my glass on the bar whilst having a conversation with him. After that my memory becomes very fragmented and I remember specific moments but not the order they happened or the timeframe. I knew for sure that something was wrong because I know how I feel when I’ve had enough to drink to feel a little out of control of my movements but I’ve never felt like I couldn’t get words out. I remember the man picked me up with my legs round his waist and carried me to a booth where he started kissing me and putting his tongue all over my body but I could not speak to stop him. It undoubtedly looked very heavy-handed or animalistic. I also remember seeing a woman across the room who seemed like she was club staff, watching what was happening without intervening. It felt like I was aware of everything going on and sober in my brain but my body and mouth were too drunk to do anything except go along with it. Eventually he started to take me down the stairs to leave the club and I managed to open messages with my friend and text him loads until he found me and took me back upstairs to the rest of the group and figure out taxis to get me home. A police report was opened in the few days afterwards once I’d processed what happened and told a family member, but nothing ever came from it. Oxford had a period in 2021 where spiking was happening very frequently at clubs like Bridge and Atik and I have friends who had very bad experiences at both of those, involving the security teams.

We take accusations of spiking very seriously. Please can you confirm how you have verified this report? We have a very strict recording process of incidents at the venue, and cannot find evidence of an ambulance attending the venue on that date, or any incident that matches that description.

Had a bottomless brunch with a group of 14 friends and was drinking Prosecco. Was not drunk when I left Bar Soba and was admitted to Be At One without any issues. I didn’t have time for a drink in Be At One as I very quickly, within 10 minutes of arriving, became unwell. It was like nothing I’d experienced before. I vomited and was not in control of my body at all. The doorman approached me and asked what I’d taken. I was with friends who defended me vehemently and said nothing at all. They told me to get up and walk but I physically couldn’t. They dragged me out of the bar and placed me on a bar stool. I fell off and hit my head straight away. My friends called an ambulance and I was taken to A&E but I have very little recollection of any of that. They have all told me that it was an instant change in me, that it was scary to see me not in control of my body at all. I could hear what people were saying to me but I couldn’t respond or get my body to move in the way I wanted it to. I was treated as a drunk.

I was travelling with a friend and we had been pre drinking in the hostel with a group of friends we'd made. we got to the beach where the full moon party was and at some point got a bucket each. I only remember the first hour or so of the party and the next thing I remember is being on the back of a moped LUCKILY with someone from the group of friends we'd made who was taking me home because of the state I was in. Once my friend and the rest of the group came back to the hostel they told me I had started acting weird and was wondering off and wasn't making sense when I was speaking. They were asking me if I remembered doing things from earlier in the night and I couldn't. When I had wondered off it was someone else from the group who found me and got me back to the hostel, whilst the rest of them were running up and down the beach panicking where I had gone. I had drank but not enough to black out as badly as this. After speaking to other people we met travelling a lot of people were saying they thought they'd been spiked or knew people who had been spiked at the full moon party, and I think it must have been the bucket as it's huge and so easy to slip something in to. I didn't report it to the bar or even the hostel staff as I didn't put the pieces together that I was spiked until I came home from travelling.

I went for a night up the town with a few of my friends. I was feeling completely fine the whole night up until round about 2 in the morning, I started feeling very unwell but just thought it was due to the alcohol, I went to the toilets and ended up collapsing. My memory is very blurry but I remember the woman that works at lorenzos came into the bathroom and started banging on my door telling me to get out. I managed to just pull myself up and open the door, the woman told me to leave as the nightclub was shut now, I checked the time and it was half 4, I had been unconscious on the bathroom floor cubicle for almost 2 and a half hours and nobody helped (my friends were looking for me came into the bathroom and chapped on the doors shouting my name but as I was unconscious I didn’t hear them) the woman in the bathroom, that stays in the bathroom to make sure everyone is okay ( clearly needs other job as they can’t even do that) basically pushed me out the bathroom and told me to go home even though she could see I could hardly walk. I somehow managed to get down the stairs and out side ( I don’t remember that part) I went outside and my vision was very blurry, I managed to just make out a group of girls and went upto them and said “help I think I’ve been spiked” I then collapsed and went unconscious again, they phoned an ambulance and managed to get my phone to phone my parents. Then went and got a bouncer from lorenzos to help but they shrugged their shoulders and said “just a typical drunk girl” walked away and locked the doors and left me. Luckily a really nice bouncer from PJ molloys just down the road heard what happened and came and helped. I reported it to the police the next day and they done some tests and examined me and found a pin prick on my shoulder. My friends had previously went to other bars to look for me as I was unconscious for over 2 hours and didn’t answer my phone.
